This is a traditional Filipino dessert custard. This particular recipe comes from Auntie Jean.
The Basics
- 4 Eggs
- ¼ cup of water
- 1 can of evaporated milk
- 1 can of condensed bilk
- Dash of salt
- ¼ teaspoon of lemon extract
- Sugar
The Rundown
- Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Beat on high setting for approx 1 minute
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Caramelize sugar in a ceramic/glass baking dish on top of the stove.
- Place baking dish in another baking pan that has water.
- Carefully place in oven.
- Bake for 30 minutes and then cover with aluminum foil to prevent burning.
- Return and cool for another 30 minutes.
- Check with a clean toothpick.
