My dad is buffet kind of man. Given any occasion, he will suggest Golden Corral or any Chinese buffet. He likes having options. This weekend was his birthday, and he surprisingly agreed to have lunch at Smokey Bones to celebrate.

I ordered (as you can see in the picture on the right) some sort of combo platter where you can choose two entrees and two sides for like $13. I got honey brown sugar wings, pulled pork, roasted corn and broccoli. Also I ordered a glass of sangria (which was in this cute tiny pitcher). Here’s my analysis:

Sangria – The sangria was REALLY good. It was the right mixture of wine, fruit and sugar.

Wings – The wings were very lightly breaded but still very crispy and still juicy. Definitely will order these again.

Pulled pork – Great flavor and moist. Even better with the house BBQ sauce.

Roast Corn – I thought the corn was roasted on the cob, then cut into nuggets. But if you look closer, you’ll notice the the sides of each kernel is roasted so I’m a little confused how it was done. This was a pretty good side.

Broccoli – Kind of plain. Had to add salt and pepper to make it decent.
