blueberry-mango-scones

My heart broke after tasting these scones.  I really love the blueberry scones from Starbucks, and I thought I was on track when I pulled them out of the oven.  They LOOKED like scones.  They SMELLED like scones.  But they tasted like like flavorless biscuits.

ham-bake

I was determined to salvage some of the meat from my ham fail into something delicious.  Since the meat was dried out, the only way I could add flavor and moisture is using it in a casserole.

Although this dish was my salvation, you could also use the same recipe just to create a tasty meal!

Candied yams are not just for Thanksgiving!  I LOVE candied yams (if you haven’t noticed, I have a vicious sweet tooth), but sadly it’s not a side dish I remember to make during the year because I associate it only with Thanksgiving.   But with a recipe this simple, you can definately make it year round.

lamb cassoulet

Lamb cassoulet is a French white bean and lamp stew.  When it comes to lamb, I usually like to season it with rosemary, salt and pepper and grill it.  However, I got some lamb shanks on sale so I thought it might be a good time to try something new.

pot-roast

I never knew that pot roast could be so simple to make.  My dad usually uses those seasoning that come with a bag, but the beef usually still becomes too salt and dry.  I did some research and have tried this recipe a number of times with slight modifications here and there.  I usually stock up on beef roasts when its $1.99/lb so this can be a really cheap, yet filling meal!
